GTA Vice City Classic Game & Soundtrack

GTA Vice City is by far one of the best games i have ever played and ive been gaming for well over 25 yrs. Outside of the stellar game play and all the stunts and missions you can do the soundtrack of classic 80's music is killer and with 8 stations to choose from there is something for everyone. You can tune in to Wave 103 for some Flock of Seagulls or Blondie, check out the Wild Style station for Afrika Bambaata and Run D.M.C. or dip into the Espantoso station for classic Cuban grooves. The below playlist is just a small sample of some of my favorite songs from the soundtrack.

Casey Veggies- Fortune sound Club, Vancouver, CANADA

here is another performance at the Fortune Sound Club in Canada. this dude is Casey Veggies from outta L.A., California. and seems like theres somethin different in the air out in Cali. than back in the 90s. but theres always room for different flavors. and dude is definitely on a different tangent. check out some of his music and  if you're one of my many Canadian readers, check out the show.

shout out my homegirl Zoe Peled. she gets the promotions poppin over there. even with all ur faults (women...), i still adore you... (--.<)  lol...

Smooth The Hustler "109 MCs"

ok... get ready for a heater! dude is a potential client for my studio, and if u dont remember who this dude is, turn in your hip hop pass card. u deserve to have it revoked. him and Trigga the Gambla came thru with a bonafide classic back in the days called "Broken Language". the fact that i had to say that to you disgusts me. YOU should know that. and if you do, pardon self. dude is back and he aint missed a step.

i love break beats, especially this one. i wonder how many of you so called aficionados can actually name the breaks in this clip. and if u can't, just rock to the sounds of some real hip hop shit for a change...

Culture Classics: Bugs Bunny ft. Humphrey Bogart "Slick Hare"

Bugs Bunny Characters Wallpaper

i seriously doubt your aficionado status if you tell me you dont spar wit Bugs Bunny. i used to love Bugs so much that i would take a break from hustlin to go inside to make sure i caught it. with a bag of course.

there was plenty of great episodes. plenty of sour patches, too. Bugs could be outright racist at times. being as tho he was an employee, i'll hold Jack Warner responsible. and even still, i love the guy.

this one of the all time classic episodes. this one has the type of imigination and inventiveness thats missing in todays cartoons. it seems that these cartoons just rely on silliness for silliness's sake. or like they tryin to raise the insanity level a bit. (we ride wit Nick Jr. for the daughter, tho). not like Bugs who was smart, clever and resourceful. ok., enuff commentary, enjoy the picture...

Myspace is looking good these days...

i mean, i dig Facebook and all, i mean you can really connect to people... but when it comes to the independent music hustle, i really dont think nobody is really fuckin wit Myspace. like seriously, sun.

Facebook, as a design, isnt really suited to the climate of music promotion. maybe music discussion. that makes it a great SOCIAL tool, but i dont really hear of or have heard of the great Facebook music success stories like those we used to hear of on Myspace all the time. and when i go back and look at the Myspace site now and how its been updated, im like shit, i need to open my account again. its streamlined, the music player sounds great, and they have a more pronounced section for the music to be displayed. unlike Facebook, which always has the emphasis on the social interaction. i mean thats a good thing, dont get me wrong. that type of interaction is important. but when it comes time to display the goods, i dont really think Facebook can compete with it.

now i do know of a few success stories from Myspace right now. there's an indie pop group named Blood On The Dance Floor that is KILLLING shit on Myspace. they're quietly making millions in sales and touring profits. well, i can't say quietly, cause they have a whole throng of seriously dedicated fans who live and breathe their stuff. and my neice is one of them. and they have many others across the globe. wanna go their website? you will be redirected right to their Myspace page, where the first thing you see about them is a photo of the band and THE MUSIC. not what their friends are doing, what they like, what they are listening to, not ANY of those distractions that take the focus away from YOU and YOUR MUSIC.

i am NOT geting paid for this. but i hope Justin sees this! lol (Justin Timberlake is a major investor in the new Myspace) im just sayin. and Myspace aint never put me on punishment for  7 days for friendin' people either... not that im bitter or anything...

PARIS POLO CLUB MIXTAPE VOLUME ONE

LLs up. strait from Pareis France is official Lo-Life representers, Paris Polo Club in their mixtape debut. i had to post this out of love and loyalty, but mostly from the fact that its good music. and thats how the decisions are made around here.

look at em. thats right, thats PARIS, sun. Lo- Lifes is international, sun. because if you think about it, its more than just a boostin crew. its a lifestyle sun. most Lo Lifes are what they used to call BBoys back in the day. thats why i call myself one. cause Lo Lifes stay on some get fresh, get money, get girls, get up (graffiti) or get busy (on the mic or mix) shit. Lo Lifes are really the last real BBoy Crew on earth. imma go into that on another post more deeply.

in the meantime, rock to this real hip hop and enjoy...

Hip Hop Masterpieces: Gangstarr- Daily Operation

here's one for all the heads out there that really love the sound of gritty, urban hip hop. and no one did it better than Guru (RIP) and Premier. this record here is the definitive example of New York hip hop. the irony is that both of these guys were originally from somewhere else.

as an engineer, listening to the sounds of the kick and the snare provided by what has to be a dbx 160 is sonically beautiful to me. that sound has such an organic feel to it, add that to the fact that this album is filled with stripped down examples of a unique perspective, and you have what is commonly referred to as a masterpiece. i dont think this record gets the recognition it deserves in that regard.

this record is also the record that really established the Gangstarr sound. there was big leap stylistically from "Step In The Arena" to this, and this is the form by which all future Gangstarr albums and Premier productions are based. consequently, it is also the starting point of many other records to follow, by the scores of producers who rushed to imitate the DJ Premier sound. ironically, it may have been his work on the Lord Finesse records that really made the scratch hook a staple in hip hop rather than his own records. imma look deeper in to that. but regardless, lots of others who have enjoyed success, such as DJ Babu and Alchemist owe this record a debt of gratitude for giving them a musical direction. and to me thats what qualifies a masterpiece for such a title. when it stands as a hallmark, a turning point, a paradigm shift in that field. and in this field of music, NO ONE can offer a rebuttal to the designation awarded by this author for this body of work: MASTERPIECE.

i'll see you in the comments if u disagree...
