I know y'all forgot about this song. Found it all dirty in a cracked cassette case. Spike had Brooklyn looking real good, but 'Clockers' was my movie.

I'm thinking about all the drama of hood/project life while watching 'Clockers' and I'm like we are soooo displaced from nature and programmed that it's not even funny. Hood life don't mean a damn thing in a forest. Man was given dominion over the planet and it's surroundings, and most of us have no idea how to utilize or adapt to our natural landscape.

Most people will say "I don't need that stuff" and don't realize that you use derivatives of the same tools I posted everyday. Possess your own tools, because once these same derivatives aren't around for you to use, you have a serious problem. You should now begin to see how dependent we've become when it comes to urban structured civilization. People know more about their cellphones than they know about lakes, rivers, or streams.

History has shown us that civilizations rise and fall. Hunting and hiking will never go out of style. How do you think the people went to the next piece of land and set up shop? Pick up one of those outdoor magazines or watch the Verses channel for a minute, what they're showing you is something 106 & Park can't fux with.

I'm With This

I actually had a whole blog about Nice & Smooth for my 'Lost Kingdoms' series...

Many of you know about my thoughts about the rap game and how I think it should be reformatted to contain a contemporary division. If you do the knowledge, there are a lot of hit songs and albums that are older than the new generation of fans. There is plenty of music to the point where we don't need to disenfranchise the older generation from the music for the sake of capitalizing off of the young like XXL does (ha!). There is plenty of "dead-stock" publishing to work off of.

So when I saw this video, the light bulb lit up. I wouldn't mind seeing videos of songs that were my favorites. After all, who said videos ONLY have to be shot to new music? 'Verbal Intercourse' by Rae, Ghost & Nas and 'Money In The Bank' by Kool G Rap, Freddie Foxxx, Ant Live & Large Professor are two examples of songs I would like to see visuals generated for.

If this movement catches on, the suits should see that this whole contemporary rap format has profit in it for the fans, artists and labels alike.

$ykotic Quickstrike: Change

I don't know if people are aware of this, and realistically, many may not care. Dude is not the most liked blogger on the block. But the concern is how it was handled.

Change is good if there's an improvement, and I don't see improvement in this "change". I only see the voice of the people being silenced for the sake of monetary gain. These "major rap sites" don't have bloggers on the payroll, just aggregated music and press releases of gossip and law enforcement blotters. The blog commentary has been reduced to spamming and childish banter that is absent of any musical knowledge or sharing of Hip Hop interests.

I don't know about you, but I'm not going to change to follow suit. I'ma stay a bboy, believe that.

out of the joints i heard, this was definitely the tightest. and you know i was sold when he was talkin abput his daughter. you know thats my soft spot. but this is nice thing that Billy Danze is doin. i look forward to hearing more.
